Torrecorta has been restored from the original 200-year-old ruins of a small village in the Istrian forest. The white road from the nearby medieval town of Grisignana, which runs through the forest, will take you far from the cities where people still live like peasants, with small farms producing wine, oil, prosciutto and whatever else the healthy land has to offer.
The villa's extraordinary design is characterized by carefully planned outdoor spaces with traditional elements of an authentic Istrian stone house with the clear, minimalist lines of a modern tower. This creates a mix of modern elements that emphasize the traditional and original part of the house. The villa is 30 m long, including 300 m2 of pleasant interior that can be divided, from an aesthetic and practical point of view, into two separate and independent residential units: the "stone house" and the "tower".
The interiors are inspired by industrial, rural, classic design that seems to tell a time story in each space. The interior spaces are intimate, yet open, and the uninterrupted clean span creates a bridge under which the conventions that define the interior space disappear.
